Did you get the right answer from the last post? Professor Filius Flitwick orders this drink: cherry syrup, soda, ice, and an umbrella. Here is a pdf for you to print some umbrellas for your beverages. Print as many as you like, but you may not sell the finished project or the file or put the file elsewhere on the internet. You could try scallop or pinking scissors for the bottom edge.

Refreshments from the Three Broomsticks

So, I am doing research for Harry Potter recipes. 50 house points if you can name which character orders this at the Three Broomsticks. (Answer in POA, page 202) Notice that the syrup bottle is empty. My family likes this beverage a lot!

You Can Make It: Electric Sign

I made this sign for my husband’s jazz club party. One guest wondered where I had ordered it. You can impress your guests with your own electric sign for your party theme.

1.Use a pencil to draw your letters onto a sheet of foam board.

2.Poke holes in the foam board, along your penciled lines, with a metal skewer, nail set, or other sharp pointed object. You don’t have to go all the way through the board. Don’t make the holes too close together as the lights have some width. About every half inch was good for my lights.

3. Drill holes through the foam board at every hole you poked. Pre-poking the holes keeps the drill from slipping around. A 3/16 inch bit worked well for my lights.

4. Insert lights through the back of the holes. The foam holds them in place if you haven’t made the holes too big. This sign took about 350 lights. I used incandescent miniature lights. LEDs would probably be safer as the bulbs stay cool. But, whatever kinds of lights you use, it is not a good idea to leave the sign plugged in unattended. Remember this is not a safety inspected item.

5. Hang on self-adhesive hooks. Push wire through the foam board near the top corners to make hooks for hanging.
